BELAGAVI: The two-day Organics and Millets Mela, which kicked off on Saturday, attracted hundreds of visitors who relished several millet-based dishes. The items on offer included sweets, ice creams, paani puri, pizza, pasta, soan papdi made of millets like ragi, navane, saame, baragu, korle, hoodalu and arka.

Agriculture minister Krishna Byre Gowda inaugurated the event, organized by the department of agriculture in association with Jaivik Krishik Society, on the premises of SG Balekundri Institute of Engineering. The mela aims at increasing awareness of the health benefits of millets, said Gowda.
